The Major Mitchell Cockatoo is found across inland Australia mainly in arid areas. This piece was inspired by a photograph taken by the bird photographer Howard Loosemore. Rebecca wanted to play around with the bright head feathers and classic Australian flowering gum blossoms to create a decorative background and some contrast to this otherwise very pale Cockatoo.
Measures 13 x 18.5cm, its Acrylic Ink and dated 2023
