Inspired by Raubdruckerin, the Pirate Printer of Berlin, we have used drain covers as the basis of our designs. Armed with poster paint and rollers we explored the streets and wharves of Fremantle seeking interesting access covers.
From the impressions we made silk screens which we use to print T-shirts, tea towels and calico bags. The hand-printed nature of the process ensures that no two T-shirts are ever quite the same.
Drain covers are vital cogs in the urban landscape, we are inviting you to look at the utilitarian and see the possibilities beyond.
We source our 100% cotton shirts from AS Colour, an ethically and socially responsible garment manufacturer in Melbourne. Printing ink is water-based and non-toxic while still being completely colourfast.
